Bobath Charity Golf Day

Wednesday 16th June saw a team from Gavin Watson & Reid Printers enter the Bobath Scotland charity golf day at Drumpellier Golf Club. The team consisted of Tom Brown, Chief Executive, Stephen McKnight, Business Development Executive, Colin Lindsay, Business Development Director and Stephen Cumming, Finance Director.

The weather was terrific, the course in great condition the only potential problem was the quality of the golf! The team thoroughly enjoyed playing from the rough, the sand, the water and very occasionally the fairway! The competition was intense, however, inevitably reality triumphed over ability and they found themselves just out of the prizes!

A big thanks must go to the staff and volunteers from Bobath Scotland for a great day that raised over £3000 for the charity.

Bobath Scotland treats children from across Scotland suffering with cerebral palsy. More than 600 children from the length and breadth of Scotland have attended the Bobath Scotland Children’s Therapy Centre in Glasgow. No charges are passed on to the families. They offer a specialist knowledge base to analyse the child’s skills and suggest ways of enhancing their abilities.

Everyone involved in the care and development of each child is invited to therapy sessions - including parents and siblings, local therapists, teachers and nursery assistants - ensuring the aims for each child are co-ordinated and realistic to their own environments.

They also offer short courses to all groups involved with children with cerebral palsy aiming to promote an understanding of the condition and what can realistically be achieved using the Bobath approach.
